The Federal Premier (Mr Curtin) announced that foodstuffs were being sent by Australia to Singapore to try to ensure the proper feeding of the. A.I.F. prisoners of war. “It was put to us straightly,’’ he said, “that the food had to be for everybody, natives as well. It will go into a common pool and the Japanese will distribute it.”
