FEATHERSTON

PATRIOTIC EFFORT SUCCESSFUL DANCE. (“Times-Age” Special.) There was a very good attendance at the dance conducted by the Junior Patriotic Committee on Saturday night. A great attraction was the Scottish Pipe Band, which gave several items during the evening. The music for the dancing was supplied by Mrs Moran, extras being played by Miss Audrey Higginson and Miss Grace Fraser. Mr Peter Habib carried out the duties of M.C. in his usual capable manner. The ladies’ committee supervised the supper arrangements.

ST. JOHN’S CHURCH HARVEST FESTIVAL. A harvest thanksgiving festival was held yesterday at St. John’s Church, there being a fine display of gifts. There was a good attendance at all the services. The Church parade held in the morning was well attended by soldiers. Service Club. The hostesses at the Service Club during the weekend were as follows:, Friday, Mrs Lowell; Saturday, Mrs' Lawson; Sunday, Miss Jean Donald and Western Lake helpers. The Club is very popular with the soldiers who speak in high appreciation of the hospitality extended to them. Personal. Mrs A. Francis, who has been visiting her parents, Mr and Mrs G. M. Browne, has returned to Masterton. . COSY THEATRE “ANOTHER DAWN.” “Another Dawn,” a dramatic offering, will be shown today. Errol Flynn and Kay Francis are featured. The picture is recommended by the Censor for Adults.
