BREACHES OF RACING RULES TRAINER DISQUALIFIED FOR LIFE. PENALTIES IMPOSED ON FOUR OTHERS. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) HASTINGS, March 4. Disqualification for life was the penalty imposed upon W. H. Corlett, Hastings, horse trainer, by the ’Hawke’s Bay District Committee today as the result of an inquiry which it conducted arising from the running of the Awapuni Hurdles .at Gisborne on October 27, 1941. Penalties were also imposed on four other persons. Corlett was charged with having committed a breach of Rule 338 la, which states that every person commits a corrupt practice who gives or offers directly or indirectly any money, present, share in a bet or other benefit to any person having official duties in relation to a race, or to any owner, trainer or rider having charge of or access to any horse. Corlett was alternately charged under Rule 338 Id, which states that any person is guilty of a corrupt practice who tampers with any person employed in racing or in a tr # ining stable. He was found guilty oi both charges. The committee also heard charges against A. G. Macdonald, Gisborne, licensed trainer, and J. G. Bray, Gisborne, hotelkeeper, and J. Toki and C. Zuppicich, licensed jockeys, for having committed a breach of Rule 338 th, which relates to the supplying of false information. The charges against Macdonald and Bray were held to be proved. Bray was disqualified for two years and ordered to pay £lO costs, and Macdonald was disqualified for six months and ordered to pay £5 costs, their names not to appear on the Forfeit List if the sums are paid before April 30. Toki and Zuppicich were found to have committed a breach and each was fined £5. In the case of Zuppicich the penalty was suspended while he remains on war service. FRANKLIN RACES DIVISIONS ANNOUNCED. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) AUCKLAND, March 4. Provision has been made for divisions in the Bombay Handicap at the Franklin races as follows: — Rirst Division: Bramble Song, Funny Fox, Belle Renarde, Malo, Naini Tai, Balashiel, Dart Gold, Pukahu, Sporting Style, Silver Note, Bon Trek, Flying Hazard, Beaurock, The Alibi, Bulmin, Royal Art, Santa Anita. Second Division: Noble Eagle, Willie Fay, Water Vixen, Royal Musk, Hunting Chief, Northland Son, Valhaven. Skydonna, Bronze Royal, Auto Lass, Kanui, Lady Waimai, Purple Rose, Myain, Eagle Hawk. Brackets: Skydonna and Sporting Style, Bronze Royal and Silver Note, Auto Lass and Bon Trek, Kanui and Flying Hazard, Lady Waimai and Beaurock, Purple Rose and The Alibi. Belle Renarde and Bulmin, Myain and Royal Art, Eagle Hawk and Santa Anita.
