On the 19th head, by good play on the part of Hearle and Christian, four points were added to Christian s total. The game was now at an intei esting stage, Campbell being three up with two heads to go. Campbell notched two points on the 20th head, giving him a lead of five points with the last head to play. Although Hearle and Christian played good bowls, they only succeeded in scoring three points, leaving Thomas and Campbell winners of the champion pairs by two points. Yesterday’s play generally was good, and there were some fine heads. A large number of bowlers witnessed the play. I must congratulate the winners on their success and I also congratulate Hearle and Christian on their fine effort in reducing the margin to two points, after being 12 down on the eleventh head.
