. IMPRESSIVE SERVICE BOY SCOUTS AND CUBS. ("Times-Age” Special.) Yesterday a Scout and Cub service was held in the Methodist Church. The service, which most impressive, was conducted by Cubmaster H. Smith before a large congregation. Mr M. Priest, a former Scoutmaster, read the lesson. Prior to the service the Scouts and Cubs marched from their den in Bengston Street. The party was led by Scoutmaster A. H. Gray and Cubmaster H. Smith. Scoutmaster A. H. Gray read the Scout Promise. Cadet Pilot Officer J. Curry, a former Troop-leader, was in the procession. Miss Muriel Smith was at the organ and also sang a solo. Service of Prayer. The world-wide Women’s Intercession service was held in St. Cuthbert’s Anglican Church on Friday afternoon when there was a good attendance. The service was conducted by the Rev. G. E. Williams. The local shops were closed for half an hour during the service. Personal. Mr L. Houlbrooke, Alfredton Road, has returned home after having attended the jubilee convocation of the Supreme Grand Chapter of the Royal Arch. • Personal Items. Miss Aileen Williams is the guest of Mrs Clark. Rongotai. Mr Palmer, Wellington, is the guest of Mr and Mrs H. Rogers, Station Road. Mrs John Tredray, who has been the guest of Mr and Mrs P. D. Tredray, “Ramleh,” Pleckville, has returned to Wellington.
