FEATHERSTON
SERVICE OF PRAYER WELL ATTENDED GATHERING. (“Times-Age” Special.) The citizens united service of prayer held in the Town Hall last evening was well attended, every chair being filled. The prayers were taken, by the Rev. J. R. Higgs, and the preacher was Padre K. H. Evans. The accompaniments for the combined choirs were played by Miss Collins. After the service those present were invited to supper, many soldiers being present The committee and helpers have been providing soldiers with afternoon tea, tea and supper in the Town Hall every Sunday. In future the catering and entertainment will be at the Services Club which is to be opened on Friday. Personal Items. Mrs Wakely is visiting her daughter, Mrs G. McLeod, in Martinborough. Mrs Brady, Wellington, is the guest of her sister, Mrs A. Donald, for a few days. Leading Aircraftman J. Perfect is home on leave for a few days from Woodbourne. Mrs Madsen, Picton, who has been the guest of Mrs Q. Donald, was a former resident of Featherston and has been renewing old friendships. Mrs Thompson, Shannon, has been the guest of Mrs J. McKenna. Soldiers’ Dance. The soldiers’ dance in the Town Hall on Saturday night was well attended. Udy’s orchestra supplied the music. Extras were played by Miss Janet Allen and others. An energetic committee had charge of the supper arrangements. COSY THEATRE TONIGHT’S PROGRAMME. “Gulliver’s Travels,” that launghable epic of Lilliput Land, and presented in living technicolour, will be screened tonight. It is a Paramount picture and is approved for Universal Exhibition.
