EKETAHUNA
RED CROSS SOCIETY MEETING OF SUB-CENTRE. (“Times-Age” Special.) A meeting of the Eketahuna subcentre of the Red Cross Society discussed the question of the formation of a V.A.D. Detachment. The president (Mr M. Priest) welcomed visitors from Masterton, Mrs Stewart and Miss Elliott. Mrs Stewart gave an outline of the V.A.D. activities. Wilson was elected commandant and Miss H. Fraser assistant. Miss Dorset, District Health Nurse, was elected Lady Superintendent for Eketahuna, and Mesdames Stone Wigg and Seymour for Alfredton and Hastwell. Miss Elliott referred to the Red Cross Society’s activities. Mrs Scott, secretary of the Eketahuna Sub-Centre, thanked the visitors for their interesting addresses. Afternoon tea was served by the members. Personal Items. The Rev. G. Williams attended the Church of England Conference at Palmerston North. The Rev. and Mrs Hopper spent a holiday in Timaru. Miss G.
