REST ROOM WELL PATRONISED BY SOLDIERS. (“Times-Age” Special.) The Greytown Rest Room was well patronised by soldiers over the weekend, and the ladies’ committee were kept busy in supplying light refreshments. Bowling, In the champion pairs, G. Burns and F. Dewhirst beat J. Burden and J. Kiernan (2 lives), and Dennes and Higgison beat Burns and Dewhirst. In the final Dennes and Higgison met Burden and J. Kiernan and won by a small margin. Playing for the Dennes Medal H. B. Wallace defeated both A. Peterson and E. Maddison. In the semi-final of the champion singles, N. S. McLeod beat B. Kiernan by one point on the 22nd head. In the final Higgison and McLeod met, Higgison having two lives. The game was full of interest right to the finish, the final score being 16/15 in Higgison’s favour. Personal Items. Mrs F. Taylor, of Seatoun, has returned home after having spent a few days as the guest of Mrs H. Farley, West Street. Mr and Mrs J. C. Feast, Ahikouka, were visitors to Wellington at the weekend. Miss K. Leigh, of Wellington, spent the weekend with Mrs G. S. Leigh, Main Street. Privates I. Coleman and E. Dennes were home for the weekend. TOWN HALL TOMORROW’S PROGRAMME. A hilarious comedy produced by Harold Lloyd will be the feature tomorrow. “The Navy Steps Out” with George Murphy and Lucille Ball in the chief role will also be shown.
