STATE THEATRE
“THE RELUCTANT DRAGON.” Walt Disney in “The Reluctant Dragon,” which will be shown tonight, presents the many intricate processes gone through in the production of this type of screen entertainment. Only a small proportion of “The Reluctant Dragon” is cartoon, but the actual little story of the dragon who preferred tea and poetry to fighting and so “rigged” a bout with the brave knight, Sir Gyles, to please the villagers is brilliantly conceived. It is a delightful symphony in typical Disney style, the animation and colour being outstanding. During the . film one also sees in action other Disney characters such as Donald Duck, Goofy and a newcomer, Baby Weems. The rest of the film, which is also in technicolour, features the well-known comedian, Robert Benchley. There will be two matinees on Saturday—at 10.30 a.m. and 2.15 p.m.
