REGENT THEATRE
“HOLD BACK THE DAWN.” Admirers of that handsome actor Charles Boyer will find much to their liking in his latest film, “Hold Back the Dawn,” described as the year's most unusual film, which will be shown tonight at the Regent Theatre. A romantic melodrama, the film gives wide scope for Boyer's histrionic talents, and he receives capable support from the other two stars of the picture. Olivia de Havilland and Paulette Goddard. In fact, Boyer has the most colourful role of his career as a suave, cynical, worldly-wise European emigre who weds a trusting American girl just to get into the United States. Once over the border from Mexico, he intends tossing her aside, but his plans are thwarted by his own heart when he finds himself, for the first time in his life, really falling in love. There is a splendid supporting programme. There will be a matinee at 2.15 p.m. tomorrow..
