NATIONAL SAVINGS FLAG AT MASTHEAD. (“Times-Age” Special.) The national savings for the week , ended January 24 totalled £1341. For I the current week the national savings ■ quota of £155 was reached yesterday. The flag is again at the masthead. Personal Items. Mrs George Dent, Wellington, is the guest of Mrs Arch. Clark, South Featherston. Mrs A. Pune, who has been spending a holiday in Napier, returned home yesterday. A farewell gathering was tendered to . the Rev. R. S. Keenan on Monday night, when the Presbyterian Hall was packed. The Moderator of the Presbyterian £ Church of New Zealand, the Rev, John 3 Davie, and the Rev. D. McNeur, Lansdowne, were among those present. Mr j McNeur made a presentation to Mr f Keenan from the parishioners of Fea- . therston and the five outlying districts t in the parish. The Bible Class presentied Mr Keenan with a wallet and t cheque. A musical programme arrangI ed by Mrs Arch. Clark was much en- ; joyed. Items were contributed by the 3 following:—Mesdames Houston, B. . Clark, Anderson, Misses McKenzie, ] Dick, Hardie, Burt, Hunter, Guthrie, > Messrs Gordon, Hunter, Robertson and H. Clark.
