POWER BOARD MONTHLY MEETING. 1 (“Times-Age” Special.) At the monthly meeting of the Tararua Electric Power Board Mr P. Davies presided. A committee consisting of Messrs P. Davies, A. W. Bisset. J. B. Carruthers and J. G. Brechin was appointed, to meet representatives from the Pahiatua and Eketahuna Borough Councils to discuss adjustments in connection with street lighting on account of the lighting restrictions. A vote of condolence was passed to the relatives of the late Mi’ Robert Judd, of Mauriceville. Mr Judd was one of the foundation members of the board and attended from the .first meeting held in Eketahuna in May, 1922, until his retirement in 1938. On account of military duties, Mr S. K. Siddells, of Pahiatua, tendered his resignation as a member of the board. In reply to a letter received from the district electrical engineer at Palmerston North the engineer-manager stated that the most convenient times for the half-yearly “shut-down" for an inspection of plant were March and September. These dates were agreed to. The chairman was authorised to take what steps he considered necessary in regard to war risk insurance. The engineer-manager reported that he had been appointed lighting controller for the board’s area. It was agreed to allow him the use of v the board's car to carry out his duties. It was reported that the electricity sales to November 30 showed an in- ; crease of £758 over the corresponding ■ period last year, and the trading sales for the year a decrease of £1737 to December 31.
