TWO PEOPLE LOSE LIVES I ■■■ ■— / CAR BURSTS INTO FLAMES. 1 TRAGEDY AT AUCKLAND. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) AUCKLAND, January 25. A man and a woman were fatally burned when a car in which they were sitting burst into flames in a side road off Ivanhoe Road, Grey Lynn, at 10.30 [on Saturday night. The victims were: Mrs Ona Travencore Kerr, aged 29, of Newton. Raymond Wallace Clark, aged 30, taxi-driver, of Kingsland. After calling at a friend’s house in Grey Lynn, Mrs Kerr and Mi- Clark were sitting in the stationary car when it suddenly' burst into flames. They quickly left the vehicle, but the fire was so fierce that when the two victims ran along the street their clothes were ablaze.

Residents in the area gave assistance, and the pair were admitted to hospital. Mrs Kerr, who had two young children, died at about 4.30 o’clock this morning, and Mr Clark early this afternoon. Mr Clark is survived by his wife and three children, the youngest being 12 weeks old. An inquest was opened and adjourned.
