SOLDIERS’ COMFORTS ENJOYABLE CARD PARTY. (“Times- Age” Special.) The Borough Ladies Soldiers 1 Comforts Committee held a very successful flag 500 party in the Anglican Sunday School Room on Saturday evening. The games were conducted by Mr L. C. Christie. The room was tastefully decorated with all shades of beautiful hydrangeas. Supper was served by the ladies’ committee. The prizes, which were presented by Miss M. Anderson, were won . as follows: Ladies, Mrs Fraser and Miss A. Anderson; men, Messrs P. Fauvel and C. Buckeridge. The secretary of the Ladies Soldiers’ Comfort Committee acknowledges a donation of £2 2s from Mr and Mrs W. Duffill, towards the soldiers’ parcels fund. Personal Items. Miss Vivian Fauvel, Napier, has been the guest of her mother, Mrs Fauvel, Alfredton Road. Miss C. Wilson, Stanley Street, has returned from a visit to Wellington and is now taking a V.A.D. course the Masterton Hospital. The Rev and Mrs G. E. Williams, Hastwell Street, have returned home after spending a holiday at the beach, Levin. Miss Prentice, Masterton, is the guest of Mrs Norman Williams, Bridge Street. Mrs Archibald, Wadestown, who was formerly a resident of the Waiwaka district, who has been staying with her niece, Mrs Robertson, Anderson Street, has left for Napier. Miss Margaret Brittian, Central Road, has been the guest of Mrs Russell, Pownall Street, Masterton. Mrs Percy Berry is on a visit to her mother, Mrs Sigvertsen, Rongokokako. Mrs S. Daniel, High Street, is visiting Wellington. Mr and Mrs V. M. Wimsett have left for Patea. Mi’ O’Brien, Wanganui, has arrived to take up his duties as stationmaster.
