“WIDE OPEN TOWN.” The double programme, “Wide Open Town,” and “Ellery Queen's Penthouse Mystery,” will be finally shown tonight. “NORTH-WEST MOUNTED POLICE.” There is no finer story of courage and devotion to duty than is presented in “North-West Mounted Police,” which will be shown tomorrow night. This fine body of men have made history of an outstanding character in the territory over which they have control, and law-breakers are surely brought to justice. Those who commit crimes and escape to the wild areas patrolled by the the “Mounties” may escape for the time being, but eventually the “Mounties” get their man. In “North-West Mounted Police” is told the thrilling story of the activities of these guardians of law and order, while the acting and the many dramatic situations should make a ready appeal to patrons. The leading roles are taken by the five of the bestknown screen artists—Gary Cooper, Madeleine Carroll, Robert Preston, Paulette Goddard and Preston Foster. It is certainly a picture that should not be missed.
