Miss J. Hosking, Church Street, Masterton, is visiting Paraparaumu. Miss J. Forsyth, Wellington, is the guest of Mrs J. C. Forsyth, Bannister Street, Masterion. Miss S. Tennent, Lower Hutt, is staying with her sister, Mrs M. Cleghorn, Cole Street, Masterton. Miss L. Wells, Palmerston North, is spending a few days with her mother, Mrs Wells, Renall Street, Masterton. Miss J. Johnston, Wellington, is spending a few days with the Misses McKenzie, Renall Street, Masterton. Mr and Mrs C. Burcher, of Masterton, are spending a few days with the former’s parents, Mr and Mrs W. N. Burcher, Ross Street, Woodville. The friends in Masterton of Mrs R. N. Sharplin (nee Reta Brown) will regret to hear that her husband, Gnr. R. L. Sharplin has been reported killed in action in the Libyan campaign on November 27.
The funeral of the late Mr James Anderson took place in Masterton on Wednesday afternoon, the Right Rev. John Davie conducting the service at the residence and also that at the cemetery. There was a representative attendance of mourners. Among the wreaths was one from Messrs Fagan Motors and staff. The pall-bearers were Messrs H. Hutchinson, G. Hughan, W. D. Fisher, G. Malmo, T. Anderson and W. Porter
