DENIED IN LONDON

LATEST GERMAN CLAIM. AIRCRAFT-CARRIER SAID TO HAVE BEEN SUNK. (British Official Wireless.) (Received This Day, 9.40 a.m.) RUGBY, December 23. Regarding the German claim to have sunk a British aircraft-carrier of the Formidable class, it is remarked here that there is no need to assume that this claim is any more accurate than the many previous similar German claims to have sunk British Warships, including aircraft-carriers.

A 8.8. C. announcement this morning said that no British aircraft-carrier had been attacked and that the enemy claim apparently related to an attack upon a British naval auxiliary vessel engaged in convoy duty.
