HIGHLY SATISFACTORY
MARTINIQUE AGREEMENT. STATEMENT BY MR CORDELL HULL. ' (British Official Wireless.) (Received This Day, 9.40 a.m.) RUGBY, December 23. A Washington message says the Secretary of State, Mr Cordell Hull, stated that the new ' agreement with Martinique guarantees the status quo of the French base against the Axis Powers and continuous United States shipments of food and other vital supplies. He added that the agreement was highly satisfactory to the United States and he assumed that it was satisfactory to the French.
