OTHER PEOPLE’S IDEAS
SHEEP LORRIES (To the Editor.) Sir—When .this nuisance was referred to at a meeting of the Borough Council last July we were informed “The matter is being closely watched,” and the assurance was given that the council was alive to the position. Surely the watchers must have wearied, or is it possible that a period of four-and-a-half hours is not unduly long for a lorry (that made its presence smelt) to remain in front of a dwelling house, as was the case yesterday? I also wish to draw attention to the fact that already the trees are suffering as they did last season. If this damage were done by schoolboys, it would rightly be described as vandalism, but apparently when done by sheep-lorries it is quite in order. Might I suggest that the watchers be aroused from their slumbers, and give this matter the promised attention.—l am, etc.,
