SIX ENEMY SHIPS

4 DESTROYED BY BRITISH SUBMARINES LATEST MEDITERRANEAN SUCCESSES. TRANSPORT AND SUPPLY VESSELS. LONDON, December 23. British submarines in the Mediterranean have destroyed six enemy ships. One, a large supply ship, already severely damaged by torpedo, had been beached and ef- , forts were being made to salvage it. It was destroyed by another torpedo. Two supply ships or transports in a convoy were sunk. Another ship was hit by torpedo, as was a large tanker. Both are considered lost. Another ship which was left on fire, with a severe list, may have been an auxiliary merchant cruiser.
