LIGHTWEIGHT BOXING
UNDERWOOD BEATS RAYNER. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) BLENHEIM, This Day. Ernie Underwood, of Auckland (9,7), defeated Clarrie Rayner (9.8|) in the third round of a scheduled twelve round professional lightweight contest last night. Rayner scored a knockdown in the second round, but Underwood produced deadly body punches, to put his opponent down twice in the third round, when the referee intervened.
