POWERFUL BLOW

STRUCK BY BRITISH BOMBERS LARGE FIRES STARTED IN WILHELMSHAVEN. MANY OTHER TARGETS ATTACKED. LONDON, December 17. A strong force of British bombers last night attacked Wilhelmshaven. The town and docks were seen clearly and large fires were left burning. Bremen and other towns in NorthWest Germany were also attacked and docks at Ostend. Dunkirk and Brest were raided. An aerodrome in occupied France was attacked and mines were laid in enemy waters. From these operations one of our aircraft is missing. This afternoon our fighters shot down an enemy bomber into the sea off the south-east coast of England.
