FELLOWSHIP OF YOUTH
ENJOYABLE DANCE.
(“Times-Age" Special.) At the Town Hall on Saturday night the Fellowship of Youth held a plain and fancy dress dance. The Rev. J. Rt Higgs was M.C., and Udys Orchestra supplied the music for the dancing. An extra was played by Miss Audrey Higginson. The winners in the fancy costumes competition were: — Miss Prudence Peene, 1; Dorothy Raper, 2; Olivyn Clapshaw, 3. Mr Harry Graham delighted those present with humorous recitations. Part songs were given by Misses O. Clapshaw, E. Algie, N. Ward, S. Jeffrey and D. Raper. Supper was provided, the gathering being a most enjoyable one.
United Service.
The Citizen’s War Time United Service was held last evening when the Town Hall was well filled. The Rev. R. S. Keenan lead the prayers and'the Rev. J. R. Higgs gave a stirring address on “If war comes to the Pacific.” Miss Jamieson, Masterton, sang two solos. The choir rendered the anthem, “Sun of my Soul" (Turner). Miss E. Collins was accompanist.
Personal.
Mr W. Savage, who has been an inmate of the Masterton Hospital for the past month, is making a good recovery. COSY THEATRE WEDNESDAY’S PROGRAMME. A rollicking romance of happy-go-lucky kids will be shown on Wednesday night when Joel McCrea, Ellen Drew and Billy Gilbert will be seen in the sunniest and most cheerful entertainment presented by the management this year, “Reaching for the Sun.” which is approved for universal exhibition.
