FEATHERSTON

PERSONAL ITEMS ("Times-Age” Special.) At the residence of Mrs Pottinger the wives of the school committeemen entertained Miss O. Stansell, who has been teaching at the Kahutara School for the past two years and who will leave at the end of the year. Miss Stansell was presented with an electric toaster and tray. Mrs Pope presented Miss Stansell with a posy. Miss Anne Fellingham celebrated her twenty-first birthday on Saturday with a picture party, which was followed by a party at her home. Mrs F. Wright gave a much appreciated vocal item. Miss Fellingham was presented with a posy made by Mrs McKenzie, of Carterton, and Miss Betty Murphy presented Mrs and Miss Fellingham with posies. During supper, Mr Fellingham announced the engagement of his daughter, Anne, to Mr Leslie Hodder. A very pleasant time was spent on Saturday afternoon when the local trampers entertained Mrs H. Clark at the residence of Mrs C. J. Carlyon. Mrs Lawson was the winner of the competition. During afternoon tea Mrs Carlyon, on behalf of the trampers, made a presentation to Mrs Clark. COSY THEATRE WEDNESDAY’S PROGRAMME. “The Great American Broadcast” with Alice Faye, Jack Oakie, John Payne and a great cast, will be shown on Wednesday. The grand story will be screened at 3.15 p.m, and as usual at night. Picture lovers must see this snappy show. (Approved for Universal Exhibition).
