WRESTLING
BOUT AT AUCKLAND. UNUSUAL FINISH. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) AUCKLAND, November 30. Lofty Blomffeld. Auckland, lost his professional wrestling match with John Katan, Canada, at the Town Hall on Saturday night in a most unexpected manner in the final round. Katan had obtained a submission fall in the fourth round with a reverse figure-four leg scissors, and Blomfield also won a submission in the seventh with an octopus clamp. In the final round Katan had his opponent fastened in a full nelson when Blomfield struggled to a corner and 'hurled himself backard on top of his attacker. A fall to Blomfield looked imminent when, the referee awarded one to Katan, as Blomfield, in order to obtain greater leverage, had allowed his own shoulders to stay on the mat for more than the regulation three seconds.
