STAFF FAREWELL
MR C. ROYS HONOURED. “WAIRARAPA TIMES-AGE” GATHERING. Members of the staff of the “Wai-rarapa’'Times-Age” assembled around the “stone” this morning to honour Mr C. Roys, of the publishing staff, prior to his entry into camp as a member of the New Zealand Temporary Staff for the duration of the war. Mr D. M. Graham, general manager, spoke briefly. He referred to the esteem and respect in which Mr Roys was held by all members of the staff. In asking Mr Roys to accept a gift from the staff and a cheque from the management he extended to him best wishes for success in his work. Mr E. J. Brown, manager, endorsed Mr Graham’s remarks and stated that Mr Roys had been a competent and faithful worker during the time he had been associated with the “Times-Age.” Mr Roys acknowledged the gifts and the sentiments which had been expressed. He voiced regret at leaving the company’s employment and stated that his association with it had been most happy. On the call of Mr Graham three cheers were given for Mr Roys, who left this morning for camp at Dannevirke.
