H. Perry. There was a very large attendance at the links including visitors from Lansdowne. Riverside and Eketahuna clubs. The greens and fairways and the course generally were in excellent order and were the subject of favourable comment during the afternoon.
The club captain, I. I. McGregor, extended a cordial welcome to visitors and expressed the club’s pleasure in having the president again present. Both he and the secretary were becoming old hands in the club but he was pleased to say that they worked together in the best of harmony and he hoped in the interest of the club generally. He would like to pay a tribute to the work of the green-keeper, Mr Thornton. The greens and fairways had, in spite of a very difficult playing season, been kept in first class order and he offered his congratulations. To Mrs Thornton—also he expressed members’ appreciation of the way in which she had looked after everyone throughout the year.
