PERSONAL ITEMS ("Times-Age” Special.) Miss B. Currie left yesterday for Christchurch on a visit to her brother. The newly-appointed Postmaster, Mr W. A. Trask, has taken up his duties at the locdl Post Office. Miss Norma Ritchie, Lower Hutt, is home for the week-end. A Champion Ayrshire. At the Tasmanian Royal Show last month, the Royal championship in the Ayrshire section was won by the three-year-old New Zealand-bred bull, Ardgowan High Caste, bred by Mr J. G. Donald, of Tauherenikau. High Caste, who is by the great breeding bull, Netherton Mahmoud (imp.), is described as a most impressive animal in which size, refinement, breed, character and dairy qualities are combined. He was selected for his present owners ' as a yearling by Messrs Wright Stephenson and Co., Lid’s, stud stock depart-1
ment. Notable successes were credited to the Ardgowan Stud last week at the Waikato Show. A further indication of the outstanding merit of Mr Donald’s Ardgowan herd, from which at the first annual sale 18 bulls and 20 yearling heifers made thd splendid averages, respectively, of 60 guineas and 33 guineas.
