IHURAUA

WOMEN’S DIVISION PATRIOTIC SEWING GUILD. (“Times-Age” Special.) The monthly meeting of the Ihuraua Patriotic. Sewing Guild held under the auspices of the Women’s Division of the Farmers’ Union took place at the residence of Mrs W. Brunton, “Taki Taki,” on Saturday last. Mrs E. Dagg presided over a good' attendance. Several finished knitted garments were handed in and more wool was distributed among members. Seven soldiers’ parcels were made up. In each one a knitted article was included. Several letters of thanks were received from soldiers for parcels sent overseas and members were gratified to know that parcels were reaching their destinations in perfect order. The competitions brought in £1 2s 6d. Mrs Meredith’s trophy was won by Josephine Judd and Mrs W. Brunton’s trophy by Claudia Hodgins. Mrs W. Cheetham has donated a trophy for the next meeting.
