REGENT THEATRE
“GONE WITH THE WIND.” “Gone With the Wind” is drawing crowded audiences, at the Regent Theatre. Assured of a certain amount of appreciative support from those who have read the book, the film also draws many others out of curios--1 ity to know why this massive production continues to hold the attention of the audience for nearly four hours wherever it may be shown. It is a tribute to the art of of the producer, no less than that of the author and the actors, that the film version holds the interest unabated from the early stages | to the end. It is impossible to imagine a better cast than that which has ; been chosen with so much care to portray the clear-cut characters of the story. Vivien Leigh has deservedly been proclaimed everywhere for the perfect characterisation she gives the character of Scarlett O’Hara. The' whole story revolves around the character of Scarlett O’Hara —her loves, her hates, her dynamic energy, her selfishness and her courage. Filmed in technicoldur, the picture allows the producer to gain some of the most superb effects that have ever been achieved since motion pictures became linked with sound and colour. The film has properly been described as an experience which no one, however slightly interested in the modern film, can afford to miss. Prospective patrons are reminded that the film starts its screening sharp on the time advertised.
