MAURICEVILLE WEST
THE PIG INDUSTRY MARKETING ASSOCIATION MEETING. (“Times-Age” Special.) The annual district meeting of the New Zealand Co-operative Pig Marketing Association was held in the Mauriceville West Hall when there was a fair attendance of shareholders and suppliers. Mr N. W. Hastings (Dominion organiser) gave a very interesting review of the past season’s operations, which had produced another record for the company. . He also discussed the prospects for the ensuing season. At the conclusion of the address Mr W. H. Birch proposed a hearty vote of thanks to Mr Hastings for his address, this being carried by acclamation. ORDER OF FORESTERS COURT KOPUARANGA MEETING. The quarterly meeting of Court Kopuaranga A.O.F. was. held recently when C.R. Bro. P. Fauvel presided over a good attendance of members. Feeling reference was made by Bro. R. Payne of the death of P.C.R. Bro. Jas. Elliott, the oldest member of the Court. Bro. Elliott had faithfully served the lodge as a Forester and had held the office of trustee ever since its inception some 53 years ago. Members stood in silence as a mark of respect to the memory of the late Bro. Elliott. n x , P.C. Bro. Adolph Larsen was elected a trustee to fill the vacancy caused by the death of Bro. Elliott. It was decided to send local soldier brothers serving with the New Zealand forces overseas a parcel of Christmas comforts. Bros. Payne and Mortensen reported on the annual meeting of the Hospital Association which they had attended.
At the conclusion of the meeting a social gathering was held at which Bro. R. Gyde contributed much appreciated items. ___
