FOR THE BABY

ORANGE SUBSITUTE.

A correspondent send the following suggestion for using raisin and carrot juice for babies in place of oranges, which are so dear at present: Scrape, scald and grate a piece of carrot into a soup plate and pour over it some warm boiled water. At the same time chop up a teaspoonful of raisins and put in a plate with some warmed boiled water also. When baby wakes from his morning sleep give him the raisin juice, about an hour before the feed is due, and in the middle of the afternoon give him the carrot juice.
