ENEMY REMNANT

ISOLATED IN ETHIOPIA FORCE OF SOME 15,000 MEN. CONTACT MADE BY BRITISH PATROLS. (British Official Wireless.) (Received This Day, 9.40 a.m.) RUGBY, October 24. Competent military quarters in London state that British patrols, in conjunction with patriots, have been in contact with the enemy in the Ambazzo area ,ten miles north of Gondar, which is the last stronghold of the Italians in Abyssinia, and considerable opposition was encountered. It is believed that there are some 15,000 Italian trops in this area, but since they have virtually been isolated foi’ the past six or seven months it is likely that they are short of supplies.
