FOR THIRD SUCCESSIVE NIGHT DESTRUCTIVE FIRES EXTENDED. ENEMY MERCHANT SHIP SET ABLAZE. LONDON. October 24. A heavy raid was made by the R.A.F. on Naples on Wednesday night, the third night this week in which the Italian port has been attacked by the R.A.F. Fires started in Tuesday night’s ,raid were still burning and fresh fires were started. In the station area, a number of sheds were destroyed or damaged. In the Central Mediterranean a merchant ship was bombed and set on fire. All the British planes returned.
