GREYTOWN

PLUNKET SOCIETY FLAG BRIDGE PARTY. (“Times-Age” Special.) There was a good attendance at the Plunket Society’s flag bridge party held last evening. The winners were: Mesdames Coleman, R. Anker and Oakey. Supper was served by the ladies’ committee. At the conclusion Mrs E. Maddison (president) thanked those present for their patronage.

Personal Items.

The following four old pupils of the Grey town District High School were successful in their respective examinations at the Victoria University College (Wellington) recently:— Misses Maureen O’Connor and Joyce Gordon, Messrs J. E. Feast and A. G. Carter.

Reception to Airman. Airman Pilot Wendon is to be tendered a reception by the Morison s Bush-Battersea War Services’ Committee in the Morison’s Bush Hall on Monday evening ’ next. The Mayor would like to see a large attendance of the Greytown public, as the Greytown Citizens’ Committee has also been afforded an opportunity to do honour io the guest of the evening.

Hospital Accommodation. The matter- of proceeding with the erection of additional accommodation at the Greytown Hospital was raised by Mr J. F. Thompson at Wednesday’s meeting of the Wairarapa Hospital Board. The managing-secretary, Mr Norman Lee, reported that plans and specifications would be available for consideration at the next board meeting.
