OBITUARY
MR HENRY McPHERSON COLE
The death occurred at the Masterton Hospital this morning, after an illness of a few weeks, of Mr Henry McPherson Cole, youngest son of the late Mr and Mrs Henry Cole, pioneer settlers of Masterton.
The late Mr Cole was born in Masterton 66 years ago and had resided in Cole Street for the greater part of his life. For the last 10 years he was engaged in farming at Kahautara, where he had lived with his sons. For many years he was on the staff of the Masterton Implement Company, where he was employed as a wheelwright. He was widely known and highly respected and his death severs another link with the early settlers.
His wife predeceased him several years ago and he is survived by a family of three sons, Messrs Alex, Geoffry and Rupert Cole, of Kahautara, and one daughter, Mrs Henry Muir. Western Lake.
The funeral will take place on Wednesday, leaving the chapel of Hyde’s Funeral Service, following a service at 1.30 p.m. for the Masterton Cemetery.
