FOUND DEAD
VISITING AUSTRALIAN WOMAN. DISCOVERY AT EMPIRE HOTEL. Edna Phyllis Hore, aged about 26 years, of Adelaide, Australia, manageress of Maeder Beauty Salons Ltd., Nelson, was found drowned in a bath at the Empire Hotel, Masterton, this morning. The discovery was made by Miss N. Mann, manager of the Wellington branch of Maeders Ltd., and Mr P. G. Cope, accountant for Maeder’s N.Z. Ltd. It is understood that Miss Hore told Miss Mann that she would be in the bathroom for only a few minutes. After some time had passed Miss Mann called out to Miss Hore but received no reply, so she called Mr Cope, who forced the door.
Miss Hore, who was to have been present at the opening of the Masterton salon this morning intended leaving by the rail-car at 10 -o’clock for Wellington to fly back to Nelson. It is understood that a post-mortem examination will be. carried out today by Dr. P. Lynch, Wellington.
