The United Press says a party of Australian and New Zealand airmen today entrained en route for Canada. The total number is believed to be between 600 and 800, of whom more than half will complete their training in Canada. About 150 are experienced pilots, going to England. It is believed that some of them are to ferry planes across the Atlantic. On this point official sources are silent, but many of the airmen jokingly said: “We’re on our way to Berlin.” Wing Commander Athol Richards commanded the contingent and Wing Commander T. W. White, Squadion Leaders F. B. Phillips and R. C. Aylmg officered the group. Nurse Alice Wheatley is the only woman in the party.
