The Dome! news agency reported that Japanese forces had repulsed eight Chinese divisions attempting to recapture Ichang. CHUNGKING REPORT. (Received This Day, 12.30 p.m.) CHUNGKING, October 8. A Chinese communique claims that five strategic points around Ichang have been captured by Chinese forces and that the Japanese position is precarious. The Chinese have cut Japanese communications along the PeipingHankow Railway.
