ART CLUB
ARRANGEMENTS FOR EXHIBITION COMPREHENSIVE DISPLAY. Arrangements for a general exhibition of art to be held in the Municipal Hall from November 24 to 28 were made at a meeting of the Masterton Art' Club last night. The president. Mr A. E. Clemas, occupied the chair. It was agreed that the exhibition should be general in scope and that it should include works of art loaned by Wairarapa residents and a comprehensive display of members’ work. The following were appointed to complete the arrangements: Organiser, Mr Clemas; joint secretaries, Mrs F. C. Brockett and Miss Ruth Lett; committee, Mrs Eric Shaw, Messrs Maclennan and Thompson; treasurer, Mr A. P. Bennett.
The president reported that generous help had been promised by kindred societies, including the Little Theatre Society, the Orchestral Socie--ty and others, ft was the general desire that the week should be an outstanding event of the season, comprising a week of art, drama and music. The exhibition should appeal to every section of the public, as the net proceeds will be used to augment the local Patriotic Fund.
