SOLWAY RAINFALL
FIGURES FOR SEPTEMBER. Mr H. M. Boddington reports that rain was measured at Solway on 12 days in September. The maximum fall was 52 points on the 7th, and the minimum 2 points on the 9th and 26th. The total for the month was 2.36 inches, as against 3.58 (1940), 2.18 (1939), 6.37 (1938), 3.99 (1937), 2.25 (1936). Average for 38 years, 3.23 inches. The total rainfall for the past nine months was 35.75 inches, as compared with 26.89 (1940), 24.11 (1939), 37.99 (1938), 27.09 (1937), 34.98 (1936). The average for 38 years is 30.18 inches.
