RED CROSS SOCIETY EUCHRE PARTY. (“Times-Age” Special.) The Red Cross Society’s weeklyeuchre party was held yesterday afternoon, the sum of £3 5s being the result. . , The winner of the cards was Miss Card,' who handed hep prize back for the fund. < . The competition winners were Mesdames Lawson and C. Skipage. Donations of goods were received from Mesdames W. Edwards, Saba, Kinsey Misses Palliser and M. Nix. A donation of £1 from Mrs J. Muttei was gratefully acknowledged. Bowling Club. The Featherston Bowling Club’s green is looking a picttne at pi esent with the flowering peach and the white and pink may in full bloom. A number of other shrubs are looking their best. A working bee on Saturday made a 'great improvement in surroundUngs and the opening of the season ' fisXct Saturday, if the weather is fine, • should be one of the best in the history of the club. Gifts for Soldiers. ■ The Featherston branch of the Wairarapa Returned Soldiers’ Association has donated £l5-10s to the committee, which is forwarding Christmas gifts to the local soldiers overseas, the allocations being as follows:—Featherston, £lO (90 parcels); South Featherston, £3 (26 parcels); Kahutara-Pahau-tea, £2 (18 parcels); Tauherenikau, 10s (4 parcels). Personal. Mesdames N. C. Shepherd, E. O’Neale, Lcnie and Jeffrey entered the Greytown Hospital today for 40 hours’ training in order to qualify as Red Cross Society kitchen aids.
