ORDER OF ODD FELLOWS LOYAL HEART OF OAK LODGE. (“Times-Age” Special.) The fortnightly meeting of the Heart of Oak Odd Fellows' Lodge was held last night and was presided over by P. G. Bro. H. J. Rathbone, N.G. Sick pay amounting to £lO 16s 8d and other accounts totalling £55 10s 5d were passed for payment. A vote of condolence to the relatives of Bro. K. N. Say well was carried in silence. , Two members declared on the sick finds and one declared off the funds. Reference was made to members on y.he'sick funds'and votes of sympathy were passed to them. Personal Iternsj, Miss Helen Hamer, who has been on a holiday during the past fortnight, has returned to Carterton. Mr Fred Wise, of Wellington, is a visitor to Carterton today.: OBITUARJ MR JOHN TAUCHER. The death occurred at the Masterton i Public Hospital at 9.30 o’clock last evening of Mr John Jeffrey Taucher at the age of 27 years. Deceased was taken ill a fortnight ago and was later removed to the Masterion Hospital where special attention was given to his • case. Deceased was popular with a largb circle of relatives and friends. ‘He was. a very keen footballer and at the time of his death was secretary to the Carterton Club. He was a hard working clean forward and greatly respected by his clubmates. The late; Mr Taucher took part in several games in the senior grade this season andjplayed in the last game of the season against Featherston for the Redmond ;Cup. At one time he was an active member of the Carterton Fire Brigade. : At the time of his death he was a member of Loyal , Heart of Oak Lodge o’f :Odd Fellows L (Manchester Unity). Deceased is surby a widow and one child to the sympathy of local residents be extended. funeral will take place tomor(Wednesday) leaving his late re■ence, High Street, Carterton, after commencing at 2.15■ p.m. foi Clareville Cemetery. ■T MR PERCY ASHTON. ■kfter a long illness the death took jlß'ce at his residence, Brooklyn Road, this morning, of a highly farmer in. the person of Mr ■Percy Ashton, at the age of 56 years ■horn at Upper Hutt, he-was the eldest r son of the late Mr J. Ashton. Deceased was a prominent member of Totara Lodge of Druids, having joined m 1903. He was a Past Arch Druid of his lodge. He. is survived by a widow and three daughters, and to /them, the sympathy of a wide circle (of friends wil be extended. ’ . . The funeral will leave his late residence tomorrow after h short service for the Clareville Cerfietery at 12.45 p.m. Members of the (Druids’ Lodge will assemble at the lodge room at 12.30 p.m. . j
