WINTER SPORTS CLUB ANNUAL CHAMPIONSHIPS. HIGH STANDARD OF PLAY REACHED. The Winter Sports Club held its annual club championships in Masterton on Saturday night. In all events a high standard of play was reached and many close and keenly contested finishes were witnessed. The finals resulted as follow: Ladies A grade singles, Miss N. Brown beat Mrs J. Nicholls 21-17, 13-21, 21-17. Ladies’ doubles, Misses F. and P. Masters beat Mrs Winslade and Miss Larsen 21-17, 21-18. Men’s A grade singles: I. Coleman beat J. Nicholls 21-16, 16-21, 21-19, 21-18. Men’s doubles: Haywood and Nicholls beat Coleman and Greenlees 23-25, 2119 21-13. Men’s B grade singles: O. Larsen beat W. Patete 21-16, 23-21, 2118. Men’s B grade doubles: Patete and Greenlees beat Forrester and Roys 1621, 21-18, 21-16.

The ladies’ handicap singles was won by Miss F. Masters.
