BRUTAL ACTION

• SEIZURE QF BLANKETS IN NORWAY. FOR USE OF GERMANS IN RUSSIA. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) (Received This Day. 12.50 p.m.) GOTHENBURG, September 2G. Herr Terboven. Nazi Commissioner in Norway, has ordered that all wool blankets, except in northern districts, be surrendered by September 30 for the use of German troops in Russia. Those who do not comply will be liable to imprisonment for three years. The Norwegian Director-General of Health, Lieutenant-Colonel Evang, stated in London that this is a desperate and brutal step. The climate of Norway demands the heating of houses in many districts for eight months of the year. The Germans are unable to supply sufficient fuel for heating, and warm clothing and bedding are more necessary than ever also in view of the lack of foodstuffs of high calorific content.
