At the second meeting of the Allied Council representatives of ah Allied countries unanimously accepted the terms of the Atlantic Charter. Russia was represented for the first time. M. Maisky said his country gave full support to the application of the charter’s eight points. The conference went on to a practical discussion on economic problems which would face Europe after the war. The British Foreign Secretary, Mr Eden, is presiding over the meeting. The first meeting was held in June, when the delegates pledged mutual assistance till victory was won. Since then President Roosevelt and Mr Churchill have forged the Atlantic Charter and Russia has become an ally.
