WOMEN’S INSTITUTE
BIRTHDAY MEETING.
(“Times-Age” Special.)
The seventh birthday of the Kai-tuna-Fernridge Women’s Institute was celebrated at the home of Mrs A. Keir. Mrs lorns presided over a good attendance of members. ' A very enjoyable time was spent. Mrs J. Ogilvy and Mrs Keltie entertained. with songs and elocutionary items respectively, these being greatly appreciated. Mrs lorns was presented with a posy and Mrs Ogilvy and Mrs Keltie with shoulder sprays. A games competition was won by Mrs Keir Senr. Afternoon tea was served by Mesdames J. Welch, J. Cooper' and L. Keir. The birthday cake was cut by Mrs lorns. The winners of the points prizes for the year were: —Cooking: Mrs Keir Senr., 1; Mrs J. Welch, 2. Flowers: Mrs J. Shaw, 1; Mrs Scharnweber, 2. Potatoes: Mrs J. Welch. Next month’s competitions will be: “A pot of marmalade” and “date fingers.” Last month’s meeting took the form of a field day with Miss Cocks-Johnson and this proved very instructive.
