They each carried a posy of grape hyacinths, pink . camelias, bronze polyanthus and maiden hair fern. The bouquets were made by Mrs Bergh. Trevor Smart, nephew of the bridegroom, who was dressed in cream satin, was the page boy. Mr K. Fenwick was best man and Mr Allan Chisholm groomsman. The church was beautifully decorated by Mrs C. J. Carlyon, each pew having a sprig of heather on it. A reception was held at the Kaiwaiwai Hall when about 150 guests were received by Mrs Chisholm, who wore a navy and white pompadour ensemble with navy and white hat to match, and Mrs Smart, who was attired in a burgundy suit with hat to match. The beautifully decorated and well laden tables were the work of Mrs C. J. Nix.
