ORDER OF DRUIDS

TOTARA LODGE MEETING. Arch Druid Brother A. F. Stretton was the presiding officer at the meeting of Totara Lodge No. 3 held last night. The Arch Druid made reference to the death of the wife of Brother Thos. Cave, of Wanganui, after which a vote of condolence with the relatives was carried in silence.

Declarations on and off the sick funds were received from several members. Sick visitors reported that Bro Percy Ashton was seriously ill. The clearance of Bro W. E. Hannah to Otaki Lodge was granted, and is to take effect from the November quarter.

It was resolved that a parcel be forwarded to each lodge member on active service overseas and is to contain Christmas cheer. The arranging of the parcels was left to the secretary to attend to.

Accounts passed for payment were lodge surgeons £7l 10s, sick pay £2O 3s 4d, Social Security sick pay £ll, general accounts £ll 6s; total, £ll3 19s 4d.

It was reported that Bro R. N. Nunn, of Gladstone, at present a patient in Waipukurau Sanatorium, was making excellent progress and would shortly return home.

A quantity of correspondence from Grand Lodge was considered and dealt with, after which the meeting adjourned.

Field Secretary Hector Tankersley, who is attached to the Y.M.C.A. overseas service, has advised relatives that I he is at headquarters, Cairo, enjoying ''"'leave after five months duty in and around Tobruk. Mrs A. Ingley, who recently went under an operation at the Masterton Hospital, has returned home and is improving in health. Mrs M. Hurly, who is, an inmate of Masterton Hospital, underwent an operation yesterday. Mr B. R. Blatchford left Carterton this morning for the military camp at Waiouru.

Purchase of Friesians.

Mr A. Forsyth, of Owaka, Otago, in ' a recent tour of the North Island puichased two Friesian heifers from Mr M. J. Parker, “Koromiko” herd, Dalefield.’
