As a result of yesterday’s matches University A won the Rugby championship, one point ahead of Southern, last year’s champions. This was University’s first win since 1934. Yesterday’s results are:—University A 19, Zingari-Richmond 14; Southern, 42' University B 0; Kaikorai 16. Dunedin 12; Taieri 16, Alhambra 9; Pirates 13, Union 11. CANTERBURY. SUCCESS FOR ALBION. (Bv Telegraph—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH. September 20. Albion won the senior Rugby championship, beating Army unexpectedly by fifteen points to nil. This was a clash between the winners of the Senior A section of the competition and the winners of the Senior Reserve section. Army had accounts for six teams in the A section, and Albion had a record of seven wins in the Reserve section.
